Living in Orlando comes with an array of beaches to visit

It’s not just snowbirds who are flocking to Orlando! Anyone who loves the beach comes to visit. Why? Because Orlando is near some of the best beaches in the world! Who wouldn’t love to be within hours of touching their toes in the Gulf of Mexico AND the Atlantic Ocean on the same day? So, to help you relocate to Orlando, let’s check out the local beaches!

Approximately a 45-minute drive from Downtown Orlando lies Cocoa Beach on the east coast of Florida. This beach is world-famous for its surf, laid-back vibe, and beautiful natural landscape.
The sunny and sandy beach is excellent for a family vacation away from the big city with stunning waves to ride. If you’ve never been surfing, it’s a great place to take a surf lesson! In addition, the shores around Cocoa Beach are perfect for relaxing and taking nature walks. This beach town is ideal for leisure time activity. Besides watersports and deep-sea fishing, you might want to venture slightly further. The enormous Ron Jon Surf Shop and Kennedy Space Center are both a short drive away. As the closest beach to downtown Orlando, you can imagine it’s very popular on the weekends, just as popular as nearby Port Canaveral, where you can depart on one of many cruise liners. You may even meet an Orlando realtor there.

Speaking of Canaveral, about an hour from Orlando is Canaveral National Seashore. This sanctuary is home to many endangered species, including sea turtles who come to the beach to lay their eggs. The surrounding area is perfect for those moving to Orlando and enjoying outdoor activities like canoeing, swimming, horseback riding, kayaking, surfing, fishing, and boating. Canaveral National Seashore is a natural beach, so it’s the perfect place to get away from the busy city of Orlando. Being so close to nature, there are few picnic tables available, so best be prepared to eat on the beach.

Also, about an hour away from downtown Orlando is New Smyrna Beach. The beach lies right on the stunning Atlantic coast spanning an impressive 13 miles of white sand. Surfers and sunbathers alike can spend long, sun-filled days chilling out on the beach. There are also many historical landmarks you can visit in the town of New Smyrna. They are picturesque but not as lovely as Orlando real estate. From cafes and restaurants to the Sugar Mill Ruins, there’s enjoyment for everyone!

A little further out is Daytona Beach. This famous beach is about 90 minutes from Orlando and is a fun and friendly seaside town. The beautiful beach is long, with regular staffed lifeguard stations dispersed throughout and a very popular boardwalk. The ambiance is always lively, but particularly so on weekends and school breaks. There are also many nice hotels in Dayton Beach if you decide to spend more than a day exploring and enjoying the sites. This is information you need to know for relocation in Orlando.

Turning towards the other coast is Clearwater Beach. This immaculate, white sandy beach has beautiful calm blue waters that are perfect for swimming and relaxing located in the resort region on the Gulf of Mexico. The crystal-clear waters of this beach make it popular for all sorts of watersports, snorkeling, jet skiing, and parasailing. Amazingly, the beach is only 2 hours from Downtown Orlando. The climate is inviting, mild and warm, with beautiful tropical plants and palms that line the beach and roadways. Clearwater Beach is rated yearly as one of the best beach paradises in the United States and hosts many events and activities. These include music festivals and fishing tournaments. The town of Clearwater is just minutes away from the white sands and offers plenty of restaurants and bars. Once you’ve had your fill on the beach, spend the afternoon at The Clearwater Marine Aquarium. It’s home to Winter the Dolphin, which swims with a prosthetic tail. She’s the real-life star of the motion picture Dolphin Tale and the sequel.

If you are considering relocating to Orlando, don’t forget to consider how close you will be to five majorly beautiful and spectacular beaches. A realtor in Orlando may even be able to tell you more places to visit on the Gulf of Mexico or the Atlantic coast. But, don’t wait too long because real estate in Orlando is selling quickly!
